In her free time, Mrs. St. Germain enjoys seeing family and friends.  Since her two boys, Ben and Luke, are in college, she especially loves traveling to the New England area to visit them!

Sophia beat out over 500 other performers vying for the role of Iola Stover with a video submission and was called up to New York to audition in person. Congratulations Sophia!

Sophia will be appearing next in the MTAS production of Legally Blond as Elle Woods!

Take your counselor to Academy Week!

During the week of November 14th – 18th, Fairfax Academy students invited their counselors and/or other caring adults at their high schools to come and visit them in their academy class. This experience was aimed at giving our visitors a true feeling for what students experience when they take academy classes. Some counselors even rode the academy shuttle over with their students!

Having trouble viewing this email? View it as a Web page.

Fairfax Academy Community,

We hope the first few weeks of school have gone well and that all of our students are settling into their new routine with great success. We have enjoyed getting to know many of our students in the halls and classrooms and look forward to more opportunities to hear about their dreams and interests over the next few weeks.

A few reminders:

  • All students who attend one of our feeder schools were given a turquoise Fairfax Academy lanyard. This allows students to gain access to Fairfax High School and assists school faculty and staff in identifying our students from other schools while on campus at Fairfax High School. Please help us by reminding your student to wear their Academy lanyard when coming and going.
  • Parking enforcement has begun. All students who need to park at Fairfax Academy, must have an Academy parking pass. Please see below for more details.
  • All FCPS families must give consent for digital resources used by schools. Please see information below about how to complete the Digital Resource Consent for your Academy student.

We are doing one final push for Academy Spirit Wear - please see below for a link to the order form. Our Dance and MTAS students kick-off our performances with the City of Fairfax National Dance Day performance on Saturday and the MTAS Sparkplug Showcase next Thursday. See more details below.

Wishing everyone a fantastic week!

Important Reminders

Students who drive to Fairfax Academy must apply for an Academy parking tag. Print out and submit the Parking Tag Application and Agreement to the Academy office during regular school hours. For more information, please visit https://fairfaxacademy.fcps.edu/resources/transportation.

If you have any questions about transportation or parking, please contact the Academy Office at 703-219-2226.

We need your help!

Some of the digital resources your student may use this year will require your consent before they can be used.  To ensure that the use of these digital resources in classroom instruction is not delayed, we ask that families review the policies regarding digital resources, the list of approved digital resources, and have the enrolling parent or guardian sign the digital resource consent form.  Please note that your child will not be able to use the digital resources until we have received your consent.

Fairfax Academy teachers use a variety of digital resources to support student learning that promote communication and collaboration both with students and families. You can find our school specific list of resources that require parental consent at https://fairfaxacademy.fcps.edu/adopteddigitalresources, and more general information about approved digital resources in FCPS at https://www.fcps.edu/resources/technology/digital-resources. These pages provide more information regarding the careful review process FCPS uses for digital resource approval and why your consent is necessary.

If you have questions or concerns about the digital resources we are using this year, please contact Tim Brown ([email protected]).

Academy Spirit Wear

We have extended the spirit wear deadline to September 19. If your student wants an Academy t-shirt or hoodie, please complete the order form at

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScgUrsJoyRhjAmKAFnWp6BLfOpjiV7PgMgitxxnzjdRJiqeKg/viewform

If you have any questions about Academy Spirit Wear, please contact  Academy Administrative Assistant Sarah Tarvid ([email protected]).

Message from our new CES

Dearest Fairfax Academy Community,

Welcome back to school for the 22-23 school year!  I am Ms. Orr, the new Career Experience Specialist for Fairfax Academy.  I am originally from upstate NY, have my master’s in counseling from University of New Orleans and have been working in profession as a career specialist for a long time in different places. I am excited to be the new CES for Fairfax Academy this school year! I look forward to working with you, helping your children get to class on time and get to their bus each day.  Throughout this school year, I look forward to sharing and teaching about different careers and industry that reflect classes at Fairfax Academy.  I look forward to helping our students gain mentorship, work experience, internships, or service to career areas they may have interest and that reflect their classes at Fairfax Academy.  Getting experience in a field of fascination or desire is one of the best ways to learn, and to help with future career decision making and college planning. Please share with me your student's dream job or interest in a particular industry by email ([email protected])Have a wonderful school year!
