Fairfax County's Only Academy for Communications and the Arts!

Fairfax Academy is the only Fairfax County secondary institution dedicated to the Arts & Communications and taught by experienced industry professionals. Students from almost 20 local high schools join together to collaborate, create, and learn! Elective courses that satisfy diploma requirements in specialized areas not offered at most base schools are here waiting for passionate students!

Calling All Artists!

The Arts ignite at Fairfax Academy with various Dance offerings in our studio, Musical Theatre and Actors Studio training in our Blackbox, and Music & Computer Technology in our state of the art production lab! Our teachers specialize in preparing our artists for auditioning and careers in the arts.

Culture and Communication!

We offer diverse World Language options for all students including American Sign Language and critical languages such as Arabic, Chinese, and Korean. Beyond language, our courses center on culture and global citizenship. We even partner with Global Classroom to connect with international high schools! 

Futures in Fashion with Academy Alum!

We are the only FCPS school to offer a Fashion Careers program taught by a professional fashion designer and Academy Fashion alum in a workshop equipped with industry tools and resources. A hot ticket and highlight of each year is the student produced Fashion in Motion fashion show each spring!

Interested in a career in the world of TV, Film & Media Production, Game Design, or Professional Photography? Our career based options offer authentic hands-on training and work-based learning opportunities to prepare artists for the industry, taught by current artists/industry professionals!

Practice and Prepare!

In addition to our authentic professional training and experiences, Fairfax Academy also offers rigorous academic opportunities. Honors and Dual-Enrollment options, credentialing and sequential electives that satisfy graduation requirements are available in many of our programs! Students receive additional support from our dedicated Resource Teachers on site!
