Academy Ambassadors

Ambassadors Expectations  

All Ambassadors must participate in a minimum of three events per school year. These may include, but not be limited to things such as: 

  • Greet visitors and guest speakers to the Academy, and to your classroom.
  • Serve as host/hostess for Academy sponsored meetings and events.
  • Speak at special events such as school board meetings, Back-to-School nights, Academy Open Houses, and other special Academy functions.
  • Serve as an "Ambassador" to introduce yourself, your teachers, and your fellow students to community and business leaders when on field trips, and other special events both at Academy and away.
  • Travel to make presentations at elementary, middle, and other high schools to talk about your Academy program and how it fits into your future career aspirations. 
  • Collaborate and create fun events that celebrate Academy students, faculty, staff, and achievements!
  • Support all programs here at the Academy by helping to set-up and run various performance and other events.
  • Plan, organize, and run events such as the Academy Awards show.

What can being an Ambassador do for you? 

  • Add a new bullet point to your resume (including leadership experience, community service, etc.). 
  • Earn Service Learning hours for after school, evening, and weekend events.
  • Allow an opportunity to network with business and industry leaders, and peers across the county.
  • Develop your self-esteem, self-confidence, poise, and leadership skills.
  • Eligibility for letters of recommendation from your academy teacher(s), academy counselor, and administrative staff.

What qualities should an Ambassador have or strive for?

  • Be outgoing.
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Show initiative.
  • Be highly enthusiastic about their Academy program.
  • Be willing and able to attend outside of school activities and events.
  • Attend class regularly.
  • Be creative and work well with others.

NOTE: Ambassador selection is based on interest form and teacher approval. Ambassadors that fail to meet the commitments and expectations can be removed from the program at any time.
