For the first time ever, our 16th annual Fairfax Academy MCT Fest will be both in-person and live-streamed this year!!
* UPDATE: MCT FEST (scheduled for May 8th) HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED UNTIL MAY 16th (due to inclement weather)
Fairfax Academy’s MCT Fest is an annual student-managed concert style event composed of all original songs, lyrics, and music by this year’s MCT level 1 & 2 students. MCT Fest 2021 includes 10 acts that will encompass blues, acapella, rock, pop punk, beat boxing, DJing, and garage band style music while also incorporating various student singers and songwriters – all from the MCT program. This year’s student performers represent 10 different FCPS high schools (that all attend MCT at Fairfax Academy).
‘MCT Fest’ will be at Veteran’s Amphitheater in City of Fairfax from 1pm-3pm on Saturday, May 8th (with a rain date of Saturday, May 16th). The show runs approximately two hours with an intermission composed of Korean Nanta Drums and Korean fan dancers from Fairfax Academy’s Korean program students.
In person tickets are $15, online tickets are $10. Online payments are through Etix, and in-person/live event tickets are paid in cash only. Donations are appreciated, and go right back into the Music Computer Technology program at Fairfax Academy. In-person tickets, are on a first-come-first-serve basis, as the number of guests present cannot exceed 100 people and MCT students are counted in this total number.
The event will live-streamed via the Fairfax Academy YouTube channel. All aspects of this event are student managed with guidance from MCT instructor, Christopher Johnston and the Spotlight on the Arts Commission.
* TO PURCHASE TICKETS: Please start by adding the number of tickets to your cart, then add the $15 or $10 donation per person to the cart depending on your ticket type, and begin checkout.
