Interested in attending Fairfax Academy?

Please follow these steps to register for school year 2025 - 2026:

1. SCHOOL COUNSELOR: Students should speak with their counselor about Academy courses and selection for the next school year. 
2. PLAN A VISIT: It is highly recommended that current FCPS high school students arrange with their counselor a visit to sit in on a class in February.
3. OPEN HOUSE: It is recommended that families attend the Open House on February 4, 2025 from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. *Snow date is February 11th.
4. REGISTER: Once students decide which class they would like to take, counselors will register students via the Academy Registration Portal. Only counselors can register students for Academy classes. Make sure to connect with the counselor early in order to complete the audition requirements by the deadline of February 22, 2025. Email Academy Counselor Mr. Donald with any questions or if you are unable to meet with your School Counselor. 
5. AUDITIONING: Once registered, students will receive a registration confirmation email with audition instructions. All audition materials are due by February 22, 2025.  
6. DEADLINES: On-time registration via the Academy Registration Portal is March 6, 2025. In-person auditions at Fairfax High School and all submitted auditioning materials are due February 22, 2025. 

Students will receive an enrollment decision late spring.

Academy Audition Requirements

*NOTE: Any applications/registrations received after February 22, 2025 are considered late. Students will be considered on a space-available basis at that time and are still required to submit Audition Materials.

DANCE:

• Auditions open only to students registered in the Academy Registration Portal by their counselor.
• Returning students are not required to audition.
• Dance 1 & Hip Hop: No audition is required for beginning students. However, intermediate/experienced dancers are invited to audition in person. Students are required to complete a Google Survey by February 22, 2025.
• Dance 2, 3, 4 & Broadway Dance: All experienced dancers are required to audition in person. 
• Auditions held Saturday, February 22, 2025 in Dance Studio G115 at Fairfax High School.
  • Dance 2 & Broadway Dance Audition 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and Dance 3 & 4 Audition 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

FASHION CAREERS 1: 

• Submission open only to students registered in the Academy Registration Portal by their counselor.
• Google Survey, intro video, and work samples are required by February 22, 2025.
• Incomplete submissions will not be accepted or considered.

MUSIC AND COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY 1: 

• Auditions open only to students registered in the Academy Registration Portal by their counselor.
• Google Survey, intro video, primary instrument performance, and keyboard demo are required by February 22, 2025.

MUSIC THEATRE AND ACTORS STUDIO (Professional Musical Theatre, Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop, Musical Theatre Workshop, and Musical Theatre Fundamentals):

• Auditions open only to students registered in the Academy Registration Portal by their counselor.
• Virtual audition consisting of song, monologue, and dance combo is required by February 22, 2025.
