Sara Chae
A native New Orleanian, Ms. Chae has always loved the performing arts. She was a performing arts focus graduate from the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, a boarding high school. She graduated from Loyola University, New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and moved to Washington, DC to attend George Washington University where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Education and Human Development. She worked in Arlington County Public Schools as a special education teacher for 3 years before joining Fairfax County Public Schools in 2000. Ms. Chae taught 1st grade, Reading Recovery, and ESOL to grades K-6 before transitioning to high school ESOL. She has been at Fairfax High School since 2016. She loves overseeing the annual Cultural Celebration, which highlights our talented and diverse student body. She also feels passionately about Equity and Cultural Responsiveness and serves on our Equity Team.
