My students usually call me Lao Shi (teacher) or Ms. Z. I am a proud Beijinger, who came to the United States to pursue my Master’s degree in education. After graduating from George Mason University, I started working at Virginia Beach City Public Schools for 12 years. I enjoy exploring the beauty of the Chinese language and Chinese culture with my students.  Learning a language does not end in the classroom, it is a lifelong journey. An avid traveler, when I am not in the classroom you can find me backpacking around the world and immersing myself in different cultures. I am excited to join the Fairfax Academy family.
